Barbera d'Alba doc - "Gerbole" 2000

 

Vineyard extension : 1.32.72 ha
Year: 1958
Alcoholic content: 13,8 % Vol.
Grape variety: Barbera 100%
Vinification: Fermentation for nine days with manual stirring of the must and délastage. It is then decanted into stainless steel vats and wooden casks, where malolactic fermentation takes place. After eighteen months of maturation, samples from all the barrels are taken in order to define the blending. The new wine is then decanted, let rest for three months and bottled. After six months in the bottle, it is put to market.

Ageing potential: over 12 years
Best drinking period: from 3 to 7 years after harvest.

Nose: intense aroma of black cherry and scents of spices
